Tertiary engineering scholarships 2018
Eastland Group specialises in regional infrastructure. We're also actively exploring the opportunities offered by emerging technologies in the energy space.
Our operations include Eastland Port, Gisborne Airport and Eastland Network - the electricity network for Gisborne, Wairoa and the East Coast - as well as Eastland Generation, which produces electricity from hydro, diesel and geothermal plants.
We aim to deliver consistent growth and excellent returns to our shareholder, the Eastland Community Trust, for the ultimate benefit of the whole community.
2018 is shaping up to be another big year. The new Te Ahi O Maui geothermal plant near Kawerau will be completed and fully operational, while the port continues with plans for a multi-million dollar, five year twin berth project.
Our people make our ongoing growth possible, and we employ a number of engineers across our business sectors. Providing scholarships to local engineering students is one of the ways in which we support our community and the young stars of the future.
$5,000 scholarship plus work experience
Each year, we award a $5,000 scholarship to one - or more - of the most promising engineering students from our region.
The scholarship covers a 12-month period. It may also include the opportunity to have paid holiday work over the summer. This is an invaluable chance to gain real world, on-the-job experience.
