Eastland Port is New Zealand's second-largest and most efficient log exporter and the most easterly commercial shipping port in New Zealand.

We are seeking experienced security people to work with our protection team on an on-call/as required basis.

Our Port Protection officers are responsible for:

• Confirming identities of all individuals entering the port facility
• Conducting inspections in line with safety and security protocols
• Performing harbour control and gatehouse duties
• Writing up reports of all incidents
• Patrolling the port and conducting all other security tasks

Skills required for the role:

• Ability to be a team player, supporting your colleagues in all aspects
• CCTV and RF radio knowledge
• Confidence in dealing with conflict and pressure situations
• Clear written and spoken communication skills
• A keen eye for noticing things out of the ordinary
• Security Licence and First Aid Certificate advantageous

Shifts are 12 hours, starting at either 6 am or 6 pm. Cover is needed for the team on leave (planned or unplanned) who work four days on, four days off, nightshift and dayshifts.
